my mail app frozen can not open or close, cannot restart my comp, have to update software but canot restart computer couze of the mail app wont close:(( im new with mac, please help me.

You need to force quit Mail.
There are different ways to do this.
Try:
command-option-esc
select Mail
click on Force Quit
