May 9, 2014 10:24 AM in response to Yan Purvenesby Axeman1020,I manage a Windows domain and also need to have access to Windows. I find running Windows inside of OS X with virtualization software is a much better experience and doesn't require me to choose one or the other on boot. I have been using Parallels for years and it has worked flawlessly for me. VMWare and VirtualBox are two other options. VirtualBox is free.
I cannot speak for the others but I know Parallels gives you the option to convert your Bootcamp partition into a VM.

May 23, 2014 4:28 AM in response to Yan Purvenesby G-iPad,this happens to me too but only sometimes... and yes a reboot fixes it. Apple should take a look at this..
Macbook Pro 7,1 mid-2010 (nvidia gfx), Mavericks 10.9.3
Bootcamp: Windows 7 Ultimate
I need the bootcamp partition since I have applications at work that require direct hardware communication with native windows drivers.

Jun 15, 2014 11:11 PM in response to Yan Purvenesby G-iPad,just to remind this issue to apple guys.. it is still happening. Even if I turn off the mbp from windows and turn it on two days later and boot straight into osx the dock is not there. It re-appears upon restart. Happens almost everytime.
Mavericks & Windows 7 Ultimate fully updated.

Jun 18, 2015 9:59 AM in response to Bart ekby Eric Root,Do a backup.Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Re-launch by restarting the computer and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
