Apple TV remote gone wild.

Help! Weird thing. My Apple TV remove activates my wife's 13inch Mac laptop while using on the Apple TV. It does nothing on my Mac or iPad.

Apple TV (3rd generation), iOS 7.1.1, Apple TV and 13 inch MacBook

That's remote not removed.

The Mac is picking up the signal from the remote. Go into system preferences - security - general. Click on the padlock and go to advanced, check "disable remote control infrared receiver".
