AVI Videos

The most common format for videos on a Digital Camera, whether phone or standard camera, is AVI; Why does Apple not support this format for iTunes?

Because AVI is microsoft powered. MP4 is more popular than AVI, and supported by many companies. MP4's compression ratio is higher than AVI, so mp4 is smaller than avi in the same quality,

To make apple support AVI is almost impossible. But you can convert AVI to MP4 easily.

Check this article to find a solution.
