Why didnt Find my Mac save the last known location?

Over a month ago my MacBook Pro was stolen from my home....I set up icloud to lock my stolen device once it hit wifi...after 6 weeks it finally connected but I didn't see I had the email notification til 2 hrs later and by then the computer was not connected. How do I find the last known location? It is not showing like the "help" said it would...I'm approaching the 24 hr time limit... "help" said last known location only appears for 24 hrs. Any advice?
