How do I locate php.ini in my text editor?

How do I locate php.ini in my text editor?

I'm new to OSX (30+ years in Windows) and cannot find - or rather cannot get displayed - files I want to edit.

I can locate php.ini using Terminal (/etc/php.ini) but I cannot find that folder when I "open" the dialogue box in either of my text editors (BBedit/Sublime) to load the file.

What piece of simplicity have I failed to grasp in this rather strange new world I find myself in.

BBEdit has a checkbox in the Open dialog to show Hidden items. /etc folder is normally hidden by default.

Thanks for your response. I had tried that approach, but I couldn't/can't find the folder - it isn't appearing in the listings available to me.

You can also open a file by name in BBEdit. It's a menu item in the File menu.

You can then specify the filepath.
