    Unless turned off, FCE saves your project every ten minutes, and keeps all those saves.  Have you tried to recover from the latest one of those?

    Can you supply some specific info about you OS, FCE version and exactly what type of footage you are working with?

     

    Also how did you media arrive into FCE?

    What is the Sequence setting your files are being edited into?

    No surprise there. Apple discontinued FCE in mid-2011 so it's old news.  Why?  They replaced it with Final Cut Pro X available from the App Store.
