Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour unable to install

Hi,

I've had C and C Generals installed on my MacBook Pro for a couple of months and originally had trouble installing the game from disk. I've also installed a patch from Aspyr that I thought may have helped with the following problem:

I've tried to install the Zero Hour expansion but when I try and open the game via the icon. I get the small Zero Hour intro screen and then an error message comes up and quite a lot of computer code. I've tried to find anything on the net that may help with the problem but nothing.

I do remember when I first installed just generals I had a few problems. Unfortunately I've no idea how I managed to get it running the last time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Melophage,

The original game of Generals is now working fine but I Can't get the Zero Hour expansion running. I've contacted the makers Aspyer who've told me that the game shouldn't work at all. The only way to get it running is to particion the hard drive and run an earlier version of OS X.

I'm using a Macbook Pro mid 2010 and running OSX 10.9.2

It's a shame the expansion won't run as it's a fantastic game

Thanks for the reply and for any more help

Carl,

since you have a Mid 2010 model (as do I), as long as you still have your two grey installation DVDs which originally came in the box with your MacBook Pro, you should be able to create a Snow Leopard partition on your MacBook Pro without too much difficulty. Since Snow Leopard supports Rosetta, with luck that will allow you to get the Zero Hour expansion installed and running.
