I understand that you are seeing a No SIM alert on your iPad. There are a few great troubleshooting steps for this situation. The following article does refer to the iPhone but the steps will be the same for the iPad.

If necessary, after you complete the steps listed in the article you may need to contact Apple support if the issue is not resolved.
