Pages and OCR

I am looking for an effective OCR program to use with the latest version of Pages. I dont mind paying a little for it. Can I get some recommendations.

Note: I do NOT need PDF capability.

Thank you.

You usually have pdf thrown in, it is just another bitmap format.

If you have a scanner, they nearly all come with some reasonably able OCR software.

Acrobat Pro can scan pdfs and there are some on line sites that will also do the OCR.

Dedicated OCR software is far and few between today and not worth either the cost or that they are no kept up-todate in most cases.

I decided upon PDF OCR X Enterprise Edition, $29.99 at the App Store. After figuring out the HP OfficeJet 8500c scanning process (which, for me involved using the the printer's web server scan function), everything worked well. The OCR X program is very fast and produces a txt file which can then be copied into Pages, or whatever other word processing program you use.
