iPod disabled under a different itunes account

Ok, so i bought an old iPod from someone whos not local and when i plug it in it shows "Activate iPod - This iPod is currently linked to an Apple Id (m*****@yahoo.com) sign in with the apple id that was used to set up this ipod" is there any way i could reset it and put my itunes info in, because it wont let me set it up unless i log in with the old itunes address. also, ive put it in recovery mode, soft booted it (restarted it), and turned it off, yet nothings worked

iPod touch, 32gb iPod touch 5th generation

If the Device has iOS 7 installed and you cannot contact the previous owner to remove the iCloud lock for find my iPhone you have a Device you cannot use.
