Can I delete the list of websites that appear underneath the address bar on my iPad when I'm typing a site in the address bar. The same ones come up all the time and I'm over them. Some I'm sure I haven't even accessed!!

It sounds like you are wanting to remove your history and/or website data from your iPad. You can do this in your settings:
To clear your history from Safari, tap Settings > Safari > Clear History.
To clear other stored information from Safari, tap Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.
