When is the last time you ran Disk Utility to verify disk (or repair disk if need be?)

I just ran the verify disk, and it says:

The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK.

    Hi mtoto,

Although I am not absolutely sure that Citrix is harmless,

I think that you have to add Ram: the free and inactive ram are low, and your Page-Outs are high.

Ram is not expensive, and I would go for 2x4GB. Very important is the exact specification, and very good Brand, since Mac is extremely sensitive for the Ram quality. I would choose no other than Crucial or OWC, both have all information on their site to choose the correct ram for your model that is specified in the beginning of the etrecheck list.

For now, remove google Chrome from SystemPreferences->Users&Groups->LoginItems (with the minus sign underneath). Restart, and avoid using Chrome now, quit it after use. This may help already.

If you really want something else than Safari use either Firefox or Opera, they are a little bit faster than Safari, and not so leaky as Chrome.

Maybe also take out Spotify from the LoginItems also, unless you use it continuously.

After this evening I will return Tuesday morning to see how you are doing.

    Lex
