Try connecting the gadget to your Mac and see what happens. (I'm assuming it has a USB or some other kind of standard connector).

Often a third-party gadget will work just fine with a Mac without any special software from the third-party manufacturer. Often the third party apps are bad, anyway.

The recorder might just show up as an external drive with a list of your recorded files on it, and you could just drag them onto your Mac's desktop. Depending on what kind of file they are, you can probably work with them on your Mac.

Many of the higher end Olympus dictation devices use a proprietary DSS or DS2 audio format that only Olympus software can decode. If you can't get a working replacement CD--"can't get it in"? What's the problem?--you could try the downloadable software for the DS-5000 instead. First, get the DSSPlayerV7.01.dmg full installer (the link labeled DSS Player for MAC V6 Upgrade to V7), then the last update (DSS Player for MAC V7.2.8 Update). Worst case, it just won't work with the DS-7000.
