BATTLEFIELD 2?

For those with experience running Battlefield 2 on an iMac, please let me know how it runs and your hardware specifications. Please use iMac only because that is what I am thinking of purchasing. Thanks

Running Battlefield 2 on Bootcamp is just great for me. My specifications are 20" Intel imac, 2gig Ram, upgraded graphics memory to 256mb. I run BF 2 a HIGH settings and 1028x768 res. I also run the expansions (euro force, special forces etc) I only have one issue with BF 2 and that is I havent managed to get the VOIP working so I cant use a mic to talk to others but I believe this is just temporary until the final release of Bootcamp. Hopefully Parallels solution where they said they intend to support 3d games at near full speed will be available soon as the only downside is that for bootcamp you need to reboot. All in all BF 2 on Bootcamp on an Intel iMac runs very well and I recommend you take the plunge and get yourself a nice shiny new iMac 🙂

Here's what Battlefield 2 looks like on an

Intel Mac

....

....and that's just on a 15" Macbook Pro (which is the equivalent of a First gen iMac Core Duo)

So if you want to run this on an iMac it should have these specs (or better..)

2.0 GHz (1.83 works too but eh...)
1GB RAM or more (the new C2Ds come with 1GB standard)
ATI Radeon X1600 w/128MB VRAM (upgrade to the 256MB if you can afford it, it helps quite a bit.)

(Do not get the $999 iMac if you're planning on running BF2, the Intel GMA card is pretty cruddy...)

Hope that helps you get an idea.
