Hello
since I installed Mavericks 10.9,2 (MacPro5,1) when trying to print I get a beach ball and then, after some times, a message "there was a problem connecting to the server 192,168,0,6, Contact your system administrator..."
What's going on and how can I get rid of this?

No idea what's going on...
Have you tried removing and re-adding the printer in Print & Scan prefs?
If that doesn't help, try Resetting the Printing System, then re-adding the printer:
well well we are in deeep trouble
Been there. done everything as stated + new drivers etc

You'll need to explain how it is connected.
The LAN IP address 192.168.0.6 is presumably part of the network that the Mac is on. Is that the address of the printer itself and has it been issued the IP address via a WiFi connection, was it by DHCP from the router, or if it is the address of a separate network print server or a Windows network component please explain more about the network configuration and the printer model.
So I'm using a MacPro 10.9.2 and the printer is an Epson R2000, the driver I use is the Epson downloaded driver set up as a networked printer
No Windows network, pure Mac since Mac 512

Can you tell us what you mean by query? Ping?
Can you print out a config page at the printer? (lots of printers print their config when you turn off, then back on.)
What does it say the printer's IP is?
Did you set the printer up using Bonjour?
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing command-C:
~/Library/PDF Services
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. A folder may open. If it does, move the contents to the Desktop, or to a new folder on the Desktop. Log out and log back in. Test. If there's no change, put the items you moved back where they were.

I don't know where to get the printer's IP. I guess it should be 192.168.0.6 since yhe message says "There's a problem connecting to the server 198.162.0.6 " and seems tp be an IP address to me)

Install it as an IP printer instead.
I installed as an IP printer (192.168.0.6 address - Recognized as an Epson R2000 driver - shared in the network)
but to no avail, it still beachballs when I try to print (though the delay is shorter) then the same message appears, type OK to it, and goes to the print screen message
I don't have the ultimate solution, but your system information indicates that the printer is set up to use a USB connedtion:

I also note that the printer name ends with R2000 2. This is usually seen when a second printer with the same name is added. The system automatically adds the extra "2" to indicate that it is a second instance.
That's correct
I tried two different solutions
a) installed as a USB direct connection (that's what it is)
b) installed as a networked printer on my Mac network
Neither works as it should, I mean when trying to print from an application (word, Photoshop, etc) it beachballs but if I print from Preview it goes perfectly straight to the printer.
