There is no "code". Here is the unlock procedure:

Either Sprint gave the seller the wrong information, or the seller is lying to you.

    Regards.

There is no such thing as an unlock code for an iPhone. "master code" or otherwise.  That's now how iPhone unlocking works.

That is totally wrong. There is no "code" to unlock iPhones. Either you misunderstood or the owner lied to you. When a carrier unlocks an iPhone they notify Apple that the phone is unlocked. You then must connect the phone to iTunes and restore it as a new phone. If it was really unlocked you will see a message when the restore completes that says "Congratulations. Your iPhone is unlocked."

Heres the funny thing when i go to my settings and then check iphone carrier it shows me the my new carrier  as the carrier but when i insert this new carrier it will lock again. So from all i hve heard an iphone is only unlocked by the original carrier and no one else especially not another carrier is that right?

Yes, that is correct and if the phone that you purchased was locked to Sprint, then yes, only Sprint can unlock the phone for you and nobody else.

However, no, once the phone has been unlocked by Sprint it will not lock again.  If it has been officially unlocked by Sprint, then you can put as many sim cards into the phone as you like and it should not lock.
