Q: Ipod Classic and freezing via USB in vehicle.

My Ipod 80G Classic when plugged in the car USB will play 160-220 out of 10,000 on random and then freeze. Is this common and a fix available as I'm considering buying a new one given it is 6 years old?

iPod classic, iOS 7.1.1, 80G
