iPhone 5S battery usage time

Hello guys! What usage time do you get from your iPhone till it needs to be pluuged for charge? I get about 5-6 hours. Is that kinda normal or I should take it to AASP? Thanks in advance.

That may or may not be normal, depending on what features you use, how strong your cell signal is, and what apps you have that run in background. Have you compared your usage against the battery life specs?

http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

  • Talk time: Up to 10 hours on 3G
  • Standby time: Up to 250 hours
  • Internet use: Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 10 hours on LTE, up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi
  • Video playback: Up to 10 hours
  • Audio playback: Up to 40 hours

Keep in mind that these are inversly additive; if you are talking and using data at the same time your usage will be lower than either the data or talk numbers. And note also that it says "up to" - you may get less, and certainly WILL get less if you have a weak cell signal or your phone goes in and out of areas with cell service.

I have a 4S running iOS 7.1.1 and most days, I can run my phone from the time I unplug it from the charger in the morning around 6am until I plug it back in at 11pm at night and still have between 15-25% battery left. I discovered that 7.1.1 provides the best battery life since one of the middle 5.X iOS's.

I don't use push email, I turn off almost all of the notifications except for; phone, calendar events, messages, reminders. I have very few locations services turned on, Facebook and twitter do not need to know where I am. I turn off bluetooth whenever I am not actually in my car using my bluetooth headset. I try to stay on a wifi network if I can. Turn off Raise to Talk for Siri.

Basically I don't get to use the really cool features that we would all love to use because until someone invents a battery that will hold a good charge and/or recharges within a minute (Someone is actually working on this YAY!!) we are stuck disabling most of them if we expect to have enough charge to actually receive and make phone calls when we need to.

Yeh I have almost exact settings you have, afcourse disabling all these features is feeling like having "halth" of the iPhone but it helps to save battery, wich is far, far from perfect. Also I red somewhere what it is not very good idea ro always clearing apps from backround, because when you are opening them again the phone has to load it up on RAM wich uses even more battery

I get about the same life you do, but I've disabled NO features. I have 2 push email accounts, 5 POP and iMAP email accounts, and leave everything on - WiFi, Location Services, Background apps enabled, BlueTooth. Essentially nothing is turned off. I get through the day on a charge, usually with some reserve at the end of the day. See: http://www.overthought.org/blog/2014/the-ultimate-guide-to-solving-ios-battery-d rain for some really great battery tips.

No no, I am not opening any link that begind eith that "byt bla bla bla". I agree with you, that games are really power hungry, as well as 3G connectivity. Thank you for your help, I pretty happy with that abttery life but if it will get any worse I will take it to service center. I have one more qustion and dont want to make another disccusion. Does apple and aasp can fix/repair iphone or it is only replaceble product?

Hi. Restore without backup would be great. It might or might not resolve this issue. Maybe you can go to ASAP or APPLE store so they will be able to replace your device? I have the same battery performance but I have more settings turned ON. Actually now, after few months of using my iPhone my battery seems better. 🙂

Have a great time with your iPhone! 😉
