Q: MBP 2006 17"

I have a MBP 2006 and the graphics card is fried. As it's built into the logic board it will be expensive to fix.

How can I retrieve the files please?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 17"/2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB

    johnfromathlone,

if your MacBook Pro is on a LAN, you could connect to it from another computer on the LAN and copy the files from your MacBook Pro to that other computer.

Alternatively, if you have access to a FireWire cable and a second Mac with a FireWire port, you could boot your MacBook Pro into Target Disk mode so that it would act as an external hard drive to the second Mac; you could then copy the files from your MacBook Pro to the second Mac.

Another possibility is that you could remove the internal disk from your MacBook Pro and connect it to another Mac with a SATA-to-USB adapter, and copy the files from your disk to the other Mac.
