Brother HL-2030 Printer Driver unavailable

I have a MBA 2012 with 10.8.5 and wanted to reinstall the driver for my Brother HL-2030.

A year ago it worked without a frill. Now I get the message:

User uploaded file

I found this:

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL894?viewlocale=de_DE

This seems to be for 10.7 and below, however. So, I havent't tried it yet.

The downloaded driver from brother.com doesn't work either or their instructions, since each time I connect the printer, OS X kicks in and wants to download the driver from Apple. Which apparently doesn't work at he moment.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your support.

Sorry for the late reply. All is fine again.

In SafeMode: Printer worked perfectly.

Thereafter restart into normal mode: Printer worked perfectly again

Then Software Update Check: offered to Update the driver to 2.10 (so it is for 10.8 too, after all)

Even after update: printing works as it should with USB as well as wirelessly with Airport.

Though I don't really know, what the problem was (smells a bit like Windows Voodoo drifted into the Apple World):

Thanks a lot for your help, Csound1.
