Onyx is not a scam, but neither should it be used for cleaning your Mac. It does not need any kind of regular cleaning. See The myth of the dirty Mac.

A legit tool like Onyx should be used to clear caches only when some kind of cache corruption is suspected, which shouldn't happen frequently (if ever). There have been very few times when I have ever cleared caches, and none where doing so helped solve the problem I was experiencing at the time.

If your hard drive is getting too full, there's no automated tool that can fix this for you. You will need to remove some of your documents from the drive. Clearing caches and similar tricks will only give you temporary gains in free disk space, which will go away again as soon as the caches are re-created (as they will be).

Now, if you didn't follow Linc's directions to remove Genieo, you may have eliminated the obvious symptoms using CleanMyMac, but you almost certainly still have components of Genieo installed and active. You need to follow his directions.

In addition, adware is often installed in groups, so you may have other adware installed as well. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing anything else.

What do you think about Onyx, is this also a scam?

I think you need to stop fussing with the computer, and use it instead. You're thinking about it far too much.
