Slow? Not enough free disk space can slow your Mac down.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your desktop or in the Finder then click: Get Info
In the Get Info panel you will see: Available and Capacity
Less than 15% free storage space can slow the disk dosn.

Do not install MacKeeper or CleanMyMac.

May 15, 2014 3:23 PM in response to rocky1by seventy one,If your Mac is truly 10.4.3, not been updated and running on that amount of RAM, I am not surprised. It is a touch on the elderly side and I'm not even sure where you would get the 10.4.4 DVD from to start to upgrade if you wanted to. It may be worth going to Crucial or MacSales sites to see the maximum RAM you should have and what more you can add.
