Pages 5 and math type 6.7c

I just updated to pages5. I want to use mathtype 6.7c with pages. My Mac also runs OS 10.9.2. I can not seem to be able to insert a mathtype equation. I tried to open mathtype first and then use pages. Pages still did not seem to connect to the mathtype. Is there a solution?

The biggest issue is your version of MathType. You need to upgrade to 6.7e. Here's a direct link for the download. It's free, and your existing product key will work: http://www.dessci.com/en/dl/MTM67e_12112800_EN.pkg

Also, please see our articles for using MathType with Pages 5, et.al.:
