May 17, 2014 11:59 AM in response to TripWby Bud Perry,The app does not indicate unplayed podcasts. It displays podcasts updated since the last time you openned the app. That is different from every other app in the OS.

May 17, 2014 4:16 PM in response to Vlazolby Rebekah S,Mine was crashing every few seconds after opening too. I had to go podcast by podcast and select no for automatic delete on each podcast. After I did that I've been able to listen to my Podcasts.

May 17, 2014 4:19 PM in response to Proteincby Rebekah S,Try going to each podcast and selecting "no" for the automatic delete after it has played. This made my podcasts start working again.

May 17, 2014 6:23 PM in response to Rebekah Sby John Doe1,For one thing, I don't think I have automatic delete set on any podcast, Yet I am having the problem described since yesterday's update.
Furthermore, since the podcast app closes after a second or two, I don't see how one can go from podcast to podcast changing settings on it.
I think some who give this solution might be solving a different problem.

May 17, 2014 7:03 PM in response to Vlazolby Yoosername,I was having this problem (e.g. Podcast app on IPad 4 crashing within seconds whenever connected to the internet).
I didn't fancy messing about with uninstalling/reinstalling, but within the last 60 mins it seems to have FIXED ITSELF.
I didn't do anything.
By the way... When I was having the crashing problem I could still just about download podcasts by going into the app, finding the episode that I wanted, turning on WIFI and then quickly clicking on the download icon/option. Even after it crashed, the download worked... most of the time. I had to listen to the downloaded podcast offline.

May 17, 2014 7:21 PM in response to Vlazolby jhedges,This is so frustrating. I knew better than to update a couple days ago, but mistakenly hit "update all". Ever since, I have not been able to play any of my podcasts. The app opens fine. I go to a podcast, any episode, click on it to play and I get about 1 second of audio then it crashes. I have tried all the suggestions in this thread including removing the "automatically delete" option from every single podcast and deleting, rebooting, and re-installing the app. Still nothing. This makes two key features now that I want (facetime and podcasts) completely useless for me.

May 25, 2014 10:24 AM in response to Vlazolby g4going,I just updated on my iPhone 4 with 7.1.1 running to the Podcast App that seemed by the description to be the answer to many of my complaints about the app and iTunes. After download, it immediately crashed with a white screen first. I restarted with no change. I
I then deleted the app from Settings>General>Usage>Podcast App. I was warned that it would delete all files and data or something to that effect. Since it was DOA, I went for it.
I searched the iTunes Store for the Podcast app and downloaded it.
Surprisingly, it opened and told me about the features and that it worked. My 5.8 GB of Podcasts were not deleted by this process.
I then downloaded iTunes version 11.2.1 which I had somehow missed and was recommended for this Podcast version.
The two seem to be happy with each other and the sync took longer than normal and the improvements will take some getting used to.
I hope this helps.
