I am trying to use gmail on my iphone 5. Yesterday it worked just fine. Today it tells me that the mail server "imap:gmail.com" is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account into the Mail settings.
The account information is correct.
The gmail app works just fine. This is driving me crazy -- I have to change email because I am changing jobs.

None of these helped.
I am going to delete the account from mail and just use the app until I can get help from my old work IT department.
It is not worth it.
Why not just always use the Gmail app? For my Gmail account, I quit using the built-in Mail app a long time ago, I find the Gmail app much better.
I guess I will. 🙂
I just feel silly not using it in mail. But gmail in mail is slow to load.

I did setup a Google account in the Mail app to sync my Google Contacts and Calendars.
that's the problem. It's not showing up on mail on the phone at all, for calendars or anything else.
Magically, it all just reappeared. I guess it wasn't something I had done....
