May 17, 2014 8:57 AM in response to Psalm46by ckuan,You need to connect iPhone to wall power supply to backup on iCloud.
Check if you have enough iCloud storage for backing up.
Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > check here and make sure the option iCloud Backup is ON (green)

May 17, 2014 9:10 AM in response to ckuanby Psalm46,I have done that. I purchased more storage on 5-8 and have 7.8 GB available. My IPad backed up on 5-13, but my iPhone will not even do a "back up now". It just keeps "thinking" and never advances. Thank you, though, for the advice. Any other thought? I called Support yesterday and they mentioned something about my settings but then told me they could help me if I paid $140 for the annual technical support because my complimentary support had expired. I told them, no thanks.

May 17, 2014 11:42 AM in response to Psalm46by modular747,1. Reset the phone (no data loss): Press both the lock and home buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears
2. Settings > iCloud > Manage Storage > your phone backup > Delete Backup
3. Try backing up
