Q: Iphoto won't open thumbnails
I took my '09 macbook to shop -- it was running extrememly slow with color wheel all the time I tried to do anything from browsing web to email and I couldn't get it to restore from time capsule. When I got it back I noticed that the updates that I had not done were done. (I only do security updates - why fix something that's not broken and wanted to save hd space) ilife was updated (which I recently found out has new iphoto in it). Now iphoto opens but photos do not load from thumbnails. So far from what I've read here, I have done the cmd/opt hold while opening iphoto, chose 4th and 5th options. I've tried to restore from time capsule. I've tried to reinstall from app cd that came with computer. None of those things worked. I've downloaded iphoto library manager, tried to follow those instructions, but they didn't fit what I had on my screen. Please help. It's so frustrating to get a machine back from (apple certified) shop with new problems. I'd really really rather not have to buy iphoto. I'm also confused because iphoto info says iphoto 9 v 8.1.2 If I can't get iphoto to work, I'm perfectly happy viewing them from the library manager. But then I'd want to delete any duplicates of pics that may remain for (the malfunctioning) iphoto to use. I was originally trying to delete photos that I don't want from iphoto because I have a new macbook air that I want to transfer everything to, but that hard drive is only 128gb (only! haha) and this macbook already has 102 gb on it, so I wanted to delete unwanted things before I made the transfer. Thank you. Alice
