iBooks: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4059 - Slightly out of date. iBooks app on Mavericks allows iBooks to be read and takes management of iBooks away from iTunes. http://www.apple.com/ibooks/
I had ibooks in my itunes, I clicked on it, it gave me a message which I only got half of then it wasn't in itunes any more. I've got the ibooks app still in application folder but how do I get it back into itunes?
It was split off from iTunes. You can't get it back without reverting to an earlier version of iTunes which can be difficult to do unless you have a very recent backup of your older version.
Thanks very much, sadly I don't have a back up.
I think I would just go with using the separate app. You can reinstall the older version but it takes a bit of doing (I have some older directions which run to about a page of instructions) and eventually you will need to use a newer iTunes anyway.
