May 18, 2014 1:17 PM in response to LARRY G. WILTONby deggie,It has never been used with another device?
And if you go into Bluetooth on your iPad it does not see the BT keyboard?

Jun 3, 2014 9:48 AM in response to deggieby Chicago Stan,I also have this problem. Have used the remote keyboard for more than a year with no problems; today it simply won't connect. Put in new batteries, which it probably didn't need. The iPad says it sees the keyboard but doesn't give me the four-number key and also has a screen message saying the keyboard may not be in range. (It's two inches away from the iPad.)
I'm stuck.

Jun 3, 2014 10:03 AM in response to LARRY G. WILTONby Chicago Stan,The iPad screen tells me to make sure the keyboard is turned on (it is), is in range (it is), and is ready to be paired. I don't know what that third instruction means. How can the keyboard not be ready if it's on and in range?

Jun 3, 2014 10:11 AM in response to LARRY G. WILTONby pjl123,it needs to be in dicovery mode. You may not remember, but you did that when you first hooked it up. if you cannot remember how, google the keyboard manufacturer and look for the owners manual.

Jun 5, 2014 7:57 AM in response to Texas Mac Manby Chicago Stan,Thank you for the suggestions, Texas Mac Man. I tried all of them. Nothing worked. Took the keyboard to a nearby Apple store and as soon as I walked into the store, the keyboard worked properly. Got back home ... won't pair. Nothing. No blinking light. The keyboard is turned on ... the light shines steadily for a couple of seconds, then it shuts itself off. Went back to the store ... the keyboard worked perfectly. Got back home. It won't work at all. The tech thinks the keyboard is faulty and should be replaced. I'm wondering if something in my house is messing up the Bluetooth signal.

Jun 5, 2014 12:34 PM in response to Chicago Stanby deggie,Have you ever paired this keyboard with another device in your house?
-
Jun 5, 2014 1:22 PM in response to deggieby Chicago Stan,I never tried until the pairing problem developed just two days ago. Now the keyboard doesn't want to pair with either my iPad or MacBook while the keyboard is in my home.

Jun 5, 2014 1:38 PM in response to Chicago Stanby deggie,So what changed in the past two days?
So I take it you took the MacBook and keyboard to the Apple Store and they paired?
-
Jun 5, 2014 2:49 PM in response to deggieby Chicago Stan,Yes, that's mostly correct. Have used this keyboard with no problems of any kind for more than a year. In the store during my second visit, the keyboard properly paired with the iPad several times but also failed once or twice, which caused the technician to say that something was wrong with the keyboard (not the iPad), and that I should buy a new keyboard -- or live with it working sporadically. Came back home and again, nothing. Ze-ro. Can't get the blinking light (except when I'm in the store). And this is with batteries fresh out of the pack. This is why I think something's going on with Bluetooth in my house.
