My daughter and I share an itunes account. She recently purchased a movie HD I think. It was downloaded to her lap top. I tried to download and watch the same film on my first generation Apple TV but always got a message that it was not authorized to play the film. I reset and logged in on the itunes account again to find the error continue. Can anyone help?

This sounds like you need to Authorize your Apple TV with her Apple ID to view this movie. Here is an article that will help you with this process.
- Choose Store > Authorize Computer.
- Enter your account login and password if prompted.
- Select your Apple TV (1st generation) in the Source list.
- Choose File > Sync Apple TV.
