Canon ImageCLASS MF 4450 will not print.

Canon MF 4450 will not print. Keep getting "filter failure" message. Tried three times uninstalling and reinstalling software and drivers. Any idea what and why and how to fix?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), 2.9 GHz Intel i5

Hi Greg.

That doesn't sound right (although I don't have that printer to check).

You are correct. This would indicate the OP is using a v2.xx driver which is not recommended for OS X 10.9.

But note with the Canon laser printer drivers that the General tab shows the PPD version, not the actual driver version which can throw you off.

To check the driver version you need to use System Information > Printers. With the MF4450 selected the full driver version will be shown. So if it shows anything earlier than 10.2 which you have mentioned, then the OP needs to remove this printer from Printers & Scanners and install the latest driver, which I have provided a link to below.
