Unable to register in iOS Developer Program. Australian developer

I get this error when trying to register for the iOS Developer Program.

We are unable to process your request.

An unknown error occurred. Please try again.

This occurs on the "Review your enrollment information & submit."

It shows my billing info. I press CONTINUE button then the error appears

In the address screen, there is no option to select my country (Australia) and the "State/Provine" field is grayed out

I tried Chrome and Safari browsers on OSX and Chrome on Windows.

Im stuck. Any ideas ?

Environment: Macbook Pro. OSX 10.7.5

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7)

Just to say that I am also having this problem, and I am a developer in the UK. Country unavailable to enter, State/Province grayed out. I'm running OSX 10.9.2.

Lately, it seems that devs have needed to contact Apple directly on the phone to get these sorted.

I am in Canada, and having the same troubles. This seems like a pretty easy thing to fix... why is it taking so long??! It's unbelievable to me that they can't fix this for months and months!

I also encountered this. And fixed by inputting the country name. The country field is rendered as a hidden field, I changed it into a text field, so I can put in my country name. Then it worked lol

This was fixed for me by....

using Safari!

I too am unable to purchase and register for the iOS developer program in Australia due to the fact that it defaults to United States and doesn't allow me to change it to Australia. Has anyone figured out how to get past this yet? Thanks.
