iPhone GPS Hardware Info

I am trying to figure out the specifics of the onboard GPS chips that are used in all the iPhone models since the 3G. Specifically things like the chip's manufacturer, model number, and any other technical data I can get. On their technical specs page Apple gives the basic info for the cellular radios but I don't see anything for GPS hardware other than "assisted GPS". I'm not looking for anyone to do all the legwork for me, but is there a good source of information out there on these components as well as which ones were used on the different models?

I have been that route and have found some contradictory information. For instance there are some sources claiming the iPhone 4 uses a Broadcom 4750 receiver while another states they use Qualcomm MDM 6600 receiver. Who is right? Is there no offical documentation from Apple Inc.?

I don't know why Apple would have any obligation to post such information but have you tried contacting them and explaining why you need this infomation?
