Perhaps if you can more accurately describe the iBook, especially the operating system and system configuration specs, someone could venture to supply some ideas on how to access whatever you have for a wireless router or base station.

The first iBook G4 with 800MHz PPC processor could be upgraded to OS X Tiger 10.4.11; and by now there are limited few browsers that would work with today's internet. The settings for wireless security (WEP, WPA, etc) for Tiger and supported wi-fi frequencies also have moved on. These may have an effect on your ability to connect to the internet and log into anything online at all.

The last iBook G4 (12"/14" aka mid-2005, can run up to Leopard 10.5.8, use 1.5GB RAM, and is quite a bit different than the earlier models.

No G4 computer can run Mac OS 8.6; however an early G3 Clamshell colors iBook, prior to the white G3 dual-USB iBook, could run that early obsolete system.

So please describe your iBook G4, display size, processor series, RAM total, hard drive size, and the operating system running in it. These are basics and should be in your first post...

For product details, match your iBook with one in specification list here:
