If i deleted all my stuff in cloud is all my pictures really gone

The other day all my banking quit working and said I need to update software on my phone, I'd never done this because I liked my phone just the way it was. Also I didn't have enough space on phone to do update. I deleted all my apps and still didn't have enough room, I accidently deleted all my cloud info too... When I called sprint I still had my pictures on my phone, the lady said to connect to itunes on my computer and see if I could back it up that way, I did, the only back up said 'Micheles Ipod" I thought this was strange since I have and Iphone, but my kids have different names so we just assumed it was mislabled and I did that back up... Well guess what it was my daughters ipod, she had hooked up to my computer and it labeled it with my name. Now all my pictures are gone. is there any possible way to retrive them??? I did get to update my phone to ios 7.1.1 but I'd rather have the last 5 years of pictures that I once had.

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.1

I'm sorry, but when you restored that backup, you overwrote the contents of your phone and erased the photos. You didn't backup your phone, you restored a backup to your phone and it was the wrong backup. At least that's what I think happened.

As a way to check, launch iTunes on the computer. You do not have to connect the phone. Go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. See if there is a backup for your phone there. A backup that is dated the same day and time that you updated the device is what you are looking for.

If you do have such a backup, you can restoring that backup to recover your photos.

If you don't find an iTunes backup as suggested above, another possibility is that the phone was setup to automatically back up to iCloud. You can go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage to see if your device name is listed there. If it is, the section titled "How do I restore an iCloud Backup if my device is already set up for use?" in the following link gives directions on how to resore it: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4036

Also, I'm sorry to hear you lost 5 years of pictures. Having them in one place (as you unfortunately found out) is not a good idea as all kinds of things can happen including loss of the phone. If you have a computer it is a good idea to periodically import them to the computer where you can see that they have successfully transferred to a second location. Following is instructions on how to do that if you want to in the future: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
