I have my work cut out this evening.
Will remove Intego first... see if that removes the spinning beach balls and/or crashes
If I have to, will remove Mail Tags...its beenso useful but NOT worth it if interfering with my MacOS and other software

May 22, 2014 8:01 AM in response to Linc Davisby thomas_r.,Therefore, if the crashes are caused by a conflict between "MailTags" and "VirusBarrier," it makes no sense to remove the former.
You are making an unwarranted assumption that the cause of the problem is a conflict. It could be, but there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that it is. Certainly, it's not going to hurt to try removing VirusBarrier first to test this. But I'd recommend getting rid of MailTags anyway, and using native functionality provided by Mail to do the same tasks, even if that means learning a different way of doing them.

No, Thomas, I'm making no assumption at all, warranted or otherwise. That's what the word "if" means.
While we're on the subject of unwarranted assumptions, you're making the unwarranted assumption that I don't know what I'm talking about. "MailTags" is a mailbundle, so it loads in safe mode. If the crashes don't happen in safe mode, it's hard to see how MailTags alone could be causing them. As a matter of fact, it's impossible to see that.

May 23, 2014 9:28 PM in response to Barbara Passman3by Barbara Passman3,Removing Intego products did not stop the crashes
I just removed Mail Tags and so far no crashes
Tech support from InDev has notified me one other user has reported same or similar crash problem as I did
Sad- handy program i really used and relied upon

The crashes didn't happen within a 30-40 minute period of testing. That certainly doesn't mean that the crashes wouldn't happen in safe mode. We don't really know what the rate of crashing was when not running in safe mode. It's quite possible that whatever the trigger for the crash was simply hadn't happened yet.
In any case, Barbara seems to have solved her problem by removing MailTags, so the point is now moot.
