I've bought a Medion Action cam, but learn that it's impossible to connect to a Mac or Macbookpro to download pictures and movies. Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem. Medion clearly doesn't want to make the effort. THX
I am not familiar with this cam but I looked at the manual at:

and it says (on p27) that it connects via USB to a computer as an external drive. Although only Windows is mentioned I would expect this work on a Mac as well. Have you tried?
Once connected, just like a memory stick, you should be able to copy your still (.jpg) and video (.mp4) files to your Mac. Both of these fornats should be accepted by iMovie if you simply drag them into your event (or, in iMovie 10 directly into your project timeline).

Indeed I have connected it to both Mac & Macbookpro and the device is not recognised.
It is however recognised by iphoto under OSX.6.8, but not under later versions or Mavericks. And...as Mavericks is the latest version of the Apple OS, it is the one I need.

You should be able see it as a volume in the Finder just as if it was a USB stick. (If necessary dismiss any application that tryies to import it) .
In the end, the only way it works, but it does, is taking out the memory card, put it in a cardreader and connect that one to your mac. Problem solved although not in the most convenient way. Thanks all
