Q: Iphone 5 will not detect sim card at all.

I recently recieved a new nano sim card for my old iphone 5, the sim card is active and works in other phones, but the iphone itself will not react to it, and I'm unable to reactivate it after restoring it.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.1
