My credit card ran out of money

And now it won't let me buy anything , even free apps. I don't want to connect another card for safety reasons, help!!!

iPod touch, iOS 7.1.1

No, nothing will be erased. If you owe money to the iTunes Store, though, then you won't be able to download or update anything purchased through that previous Apple ID until you clear that debt. And you would need to use that old Apple ID for any updates and you may still run into the same problem. Have you tried just setting your payment method to "none"?

I had thought of that but would that not erase everything from this one?


No.


You eventually need to resolve the payment method though, and if you owe Apple money the "none" option (for your existing Apple ID) will not appear.


You mentioned that you don't want to add another card because of safety concerns. Are you willing to discuss them? Perhaps there is another solution.

Excuse me I need help I had purchased a song off of Apple Store and when I purchased the song it took me to billing information and so my card ran out of money so I cut it up and put in new credit card information and it updated and everything but when I try to download things it stills says invalid payment but I put in the a new credit card information so what should I do I put the card number and everything in right and it's not letting me download things so what should I do? And I showed u a pic of me what it keep saying
