May 21, 2014 3:49 PM in response to windhorse00by baltwo,Boot into recovery mode, erase the HD, reinstall the OS, and on first boot use the Setup Assistant to transfer from your backup. Do note that only works if you have a viable bootable backup/clone or Time Machine backup. Provide details on your backup and exactly why you think you need to do this.

May 22, 2014 12:17 AM in response to baltwoby windhorse00,Hi thanks! I have a time Machine back up available. Reason is that the Mac is soooo slow, almost congested. I did a clean restart which helped ( clearing the memory) but thought it might help and nothing wrong with this procedure??!!
Appreciate your response!
