What do I need to be able to connect the newest iPad mini and iPhone 5s to my Vizio television and/or my Time Warner Cable/DVR Box? I would also like to be able to download files from a flash drive to my iPad... Need advice on what cables/adapters to get in order for me to accomplish all of this??? Thank you!

You need the Apple HDMI to lightning adapter and an HDMI cable.

Use iTunes to add media to the iPad/iPhone.
I use an Apple TV device connected via an HDMI cable to my Vizio TV. Then using Airplay on my iPad, wireless transfer the iPad display to the Apple TV.
You can connect via a cable or wireless using an Apple TV.
