siri cuts me off when trying to use microphone while playing 3rd party music apps thru bluetooth

I haven't found this issue anywhere online... can't imagine I'm the only one though.

While I'm listening to music in my car with my iPhone through 3rd party apps, such as Spotify & IheartRadio, everything works fine.

But, say I get a text and want to do a voice text back - I click on the microphone icon and try to do my voice text. It registers that I clicked it and brings up the little squiggly line to begin talking, but half a second later, cuts me off every single time and then resumes playing my music. This happens every single time without fail. It's the most annoying thing ever. I have to physically close out the music app, and change the radio off of bluetooth to do the voice text.

If I simply have bluetooth connected on my phone and try doing siri or voice text, it works totally fine.

Anyone else have this issue?

Using Siri with audio accessories

Siri will work with many audio accessories, including wired and wireless headsets and car stereos.

Find information about troubleshooting Bluetooth headsets and headphones.

Find information about troubleshooting car stereo connections.

If you are using an audio device that connects using the Dock Connector, Siri will not route through that device. You will need to continue to use your device, wired headset, or Bluetooth headset to interact with Siri.

If you are using your iOS device with a device that uses a Remote User Interface, ensure that you control your iOS device using the car stereo or other device. Attempting to control your iOS device directly through either touchscreen, Siri, or Voice Control won't work.
