I am having issues installing MS Office upgrade from Home/Student to Home/Business

I am helping a friend who has MS Office Home/Student installed on the MacBook Pro now upgrade to MS Office Home/Business. The issue is Outlook. She needs this program for work and cannot seem to get it to install. I don't believe Home/Student has Outlook althout a shortcut is installed on the computer. The upgrade has Outlook but she was unable to install it. The error had to do with the version not being supported. Thoughts?
