G-Tech mini

looking for a external HD to go along with my MBP and panny HVX200 P2 for video storage in the field then to bring into studio for editing on MP in FCP.

looking at the G-tech mini and the lacie rugged

what is the prefferd HD for this type of usage?

G5 Quad, 6.5 GB ram / PB G4 17 in. / [2] 30 in displays , 3/250gb ext HD, Mac OS X (10.4.5), int 300 GB HD / Quadro FX-4500 / Mac Book pro 2.0 ghz 2GB ram/20in imac /

and also is it possible to capture directly onto the G-tech HD directly ?
