Sounds like a Phishing expedition. Does it provide links to go to and verify your account or something to that effect?

If it provides links, drag the link away from where it is in the email. You should see a gray box with the actual address in it. See if that points to somewhere fishy.

Or, you can copy the link and paste it into Text Edit using the Paste and Match style command. That will expand the link to show where it actually is pointing.
