After restart i lost livemail, documents, downloads, desktop folders, and parallel desktop folders

I have an iMac using Maverics 10.9.3

I was trying to retrieve some files from an external disk using Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery

After I restarted my Mac I realized that I had lost my livemail folders and accounts, my documents, my downloads, most of my desktop folders, and all my parallel desktop files

Its like I am a new user with some of the ellements remaining the same

I tried Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery on my Macintosh HD but it looks as if they are not there no more.

Can anybody help ?
