When I try to print a pdf (from safari or from preview) the top of page 2 and subsequent pages
is cut off.
If the PDF is in landscape -- the right side of the print is cut off.
I have talked wtih apple (mac) support and to HP support -- without any luck.
Printing the same document from a windows PC works just fine <sign>
Anyone have any ideas?

Try a 90% scale.

I tried that - and 85% too .. still the same result. Also size to fit page doesn't help either. :-)
Yes I did that too.. it removes the printer and I re added it per the instructions.
Also -- made sure to update the drivers.
Still no change :-) Keep the ideas coming . I appreciate the effort
Try restarting your Mac and printer.
Rats! that was a great idea --- but alas, it didn't help. đ
It's not just one app the issue being with both Safari and Preview...... must be the printer software.
Maybe a corrupted printer preference ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrinterProxy.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.print.PrinterProxy.plist file to the Trash.
Try printing.
<sigh> nope that didn't change anything.
I guess I could install adobe reader which I understand shouldn't be needed
and it may cause other things to crash. What are your thoughts on that?
Try this ..
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
Do you have this problem with all PDF's, or only some?

First appeared with the PDFs on my financial institution account sites. (account statements). Work fine from
my windows PC -which I am trying really hard to retire (permanently). But I can't until I get this fixed.
Even if I just download them and never intend to print a hard copy -- the top (or right side if landscape) is cut off
starting with page 2 forward.
So the issue really has nothing to do with printing. You can't view the files properly.
No even in the view (both on safari and on preview) are cut off :-)
printing cuts off and it's cut off in view as well.
