Can I hook up a third party MP3 Player to the MacBook?

Hi:

I have a iRiver H10 MP3 Player, id like to hook it up to my macbook.
Is this possible via USB?

I have it plugged into the macbook now, but I do not see the iRiver anywhere.
Not in disk utility, not in iTunes.

How can I see my iRiver?

Thanks.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.7), Black, 2.0GHz Core Duo, 1GB Ram, 80GB, Superdrive

I'm not sure, but is the iRiver compatible with iTunes? If not, then I don't think it is going to work. I just got this from their site, check it out:

I'm not sure if that is the exact player you have, but all of the players I checked said about the same thing. You need WMP 10 or WMP 11. If that is the case and you want to get it to work, you could always use Boot Camp to install Windows XP. Sorry for the bad news.

H10 Players

H10 Players are only compatible with Windows XP. They cannot be used on Windows 98SE / Me / 2000 or Macintosh computers.

H100 Series, H300 Series and iGP players
The H100 Series, H300 Series and iGP players are compatible with Mac OS versions 9.2.2 and 10.2 or higher.

When attached, the player will display as an icon on the desktop. Open the icon to add files to the player. Note, the DB functions described in the manual are not available for Mac OS at this time, as the index cannot be created with Mac OS. This means that Album, Artist, Genre, and Title searching will not be available.

BAH!

If any Mac users got there iRiver H10 20gig MP3 Player to work with macbook, please contact me. Thanks.

What FW do you have on your iRiver?
I have a H10 also and I flashed the FW (had some european FW, now I have the american FW), now I have 2.52? (can't really remember) and on my old PC I needed to start the iRiver in "emergency mode" to use it as an external drive. With my MAC I just connect it and it shows up as an external drive.

And I would use easyH10 then ( http://easyh10.sourceforge.net/)
