Itunes deleted 121 GB of podcasts yesterday, yes apple I wanted to redownload them all and listen to each and every one again ...

Hello,

Itunes sneakily deleted 121 GB of my podcasts yesterday

I tried syncing my phone last night and I saw I had under 1000 unplayed podcasts ...

when it was closer to 2000 that morning ...

didn't think it was a problem ... just a glitch

tried syncing today and under 100 podcasts unplayed ...

I checked my recycle bin and it had 121 GB of podcasts deleted by Itunes ...

freed up a lot of space on my 64 GB 4S phone

then Itunes crashes this morning taking the itl and xml files with it ...

I had those backed up for years ... just not his one

copied files from recycle bin to itunes media directory

then followed instructions here

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2562

it's wiping the play counts and play status

next readd all music loosing all playcounts

will recreate that script that copys the iTunes Library.itl and .xml file to a backup directory ... appending the date to the name

Sorry for venting ...

it's just frustrating ...

stopped the backups because things ran smooth for almost six months ...

and the manual cleanup was taking too long
